Quiet, older but nice

We've lived here for 1 1/2 years and really like it. Our 1-bd apt. is spacious for its 700 ft. and we have no problem fitting a king bed into the bedroom with plenty of space left over. Our building in back is almost always very quiet, even on weekends. Most important, they allow pets with no weight restrictions on dogs. Yet, there is no problem with barking dogs.
I've read the negative comments and yes, the manager can be terse with tenants but for us that's a small item. The maintenance people are great. My only complaint in that regard is BRE Properties doesn't always get the message to SunPointe's maintenance staff.
We love the location - large park across the street and close to the foothills. True, there is no A/C in the apartments but a cool breeze is constant during the summer and a fan does fine. A big plus is that the apartments have washers and dryers inside each apartment. The floorspace is laid out well and you go straight to your front door from the parking lot, not through some dark hallway.
We've looked at a lot of the newer apartment developments in the south bay and were not impressed. They all seem like over-populated, overpriced, cookie-cutter monstrosities with lots of traffic and no view. SunPointe has a nice Southwestern unassuming flavor. Depends on what's important to you and what you're looking for. We like it here and, even with its flaws, recommend Sun Pointe as a nice place to live.
