Where to begin' How about a refrigerator that, when it turns on, emanates a loud and annoying whistle (management says it's a problem with that model and they cannot do anything about it) - since it's technically in your living room, you'll hear it throughout the day. It's true that, in a 1 bedroom apartment, you have no neighbors below you - HOWEVER, you live above 3 garages, one of which is yours. Therefore, the other two are your neighbors and the serenity or the degree to which your apartment is quiet is dependent on when they use these garages. For example, if a garage door opens at 5:30am, it will rattle your entire apartment, including your bedroom (especially if the garage door that opens is directly above your bedroom). I have heard of week day situations where one garage door will open/close at 1am and another will open/close at 6am. Just a poorly constructed building, with little to no insulation between units (you can hear loud music played by your neighbor) and within a unit - e.g., just plywood separates the floor of apartment from the garages.
