I was semi-happy with the apartment while I lived there, though I found the management to be annoying and nosy. But after moving out they charged me $1,000 for replacing my carpet which was not new when I moved in! I lived there for almost three years of course there was damage and wear. They also expect me to pay it in two weeks when its an entire months rent! They are totally unsympathetic and just out for your money.

I had the exact same problem with them, when I moved out about 2 years ago. I went through the walk through and the assistant manager signed off that everything was pretty clean and I only owed for normal cleaning fees. About 2 weeks later the manager called and told us we had to pay for carpet throughout the entire apartment which would cost us about 3,000 because the carpets were destroyed. When we argued this and demanded to see the damage, she told us the carpet had already been removed. While trying to fight this, Cotswolds sent us to collections, and more than doubled our fee's trying to charge us over 7,000. We ended up having to go to court over this issue.
