Just ok from my experiences.

Before moving in Jackson Park Place I had a friend who had lived here. He likes this place quite well, and recommended it to me. I feel like its probably best to describe this place in a pro/con format.
Pro's:
*"Gated" - with the lease one gate remote is assigned. So if you have more than one roommate who has a car you will need to purchase an additional for 40 bucks (its really a deposit which will be returned). There are front gates and back gates which comes in handy if you are driving from Fir Ave, or Maple Ave.
*Grounds are beautiful and well kept.
*Maintanence issues are generally taken care of the same or next day. The maintanence staff is extremely friendly and trustworthy in my opinion and I have no problem letting them enter my apartment when I'm not home. They do even little things for us, and I really feel like they go above and beyond to provide great service.
*I really do feel safe in this community. Most residents are working professionals or students. This is not low-income housing.
*Washer and dryer in unit!!!! This was the second selling point for us. I will never live in a place without these in the unit. In fact our washer was brand new when we moved in. Although I do have to say we ONLY had a dryer when we moved in. We did not recieve our washer until a week later. Thankfully my roommate and I didn't live in the apartment until a few weeks after we signed our lease since we are college students and slowed moved into our place.
*Balcony- small but nice (in theory). A large tree is above our balcony and constantly drops any and everything, which leaves our balcony always dirty. I'll clean it off and a day or two later its filthy again.
*One covered parking spot, and good amount of uncovered spots.
* vertical blinds on windows!
*Professional security patrol at night
Con's
*Poor amount of storage space in kitchen.
*Our kitchen sink peels. Sounds weird I know, it was like that when we moved in. Layers of white paint flake off on a daily basis.
*The kitchen counters are made of a hard plastic material and were already badly scratched when we moved in.
*Disgusting cockroach and spider problem when we moved in. We are very clean residents!! And we would get big roaches in our place. I've had to ask the management to have a pest control company to come and place gel around our place, which they did. Battling roaches became a problem for awhile, but right now they are under control. I'm not looking forward to this summer though.
*Ok so we pay $850 right now, which is not bad at all. But our building is the crappiest one out of the complex. We call it the "projects" building. And they are raising our rent by 25 bucks next year...ugh.
*We have alot of noisy kids. The parents don't watch them and they make mud patties on the middle of the sidewalks that run to our stairs. The parents of the kids in my building do not watch their kids when they are outside EVER!! They also leave bikes, etc. all over the sidewalks and it makes carries large loads or groceries from the car like an obstacle course. Also my neighbor below me has a dog that will literally bark all day long if its not inside. I'm sorry if this seems like I'm complaining...but its really a distraction for a full-time student. I'm not saying I'm a perfect neighbor but I do have courtesy. I inform my neighbors when we are having parties (we have had like 3 or 4). Also I really do like kids and dogs!
*We are required to purchases renter's insurance. Honestly its not THAT bad of a con, but its another thing we have to pay for.
*Water, garbage, sewer is NOT included.
