The truth about Citypointe Apartments, Fullerton
From: jmbridges@yahoo.comDate posted: 3/30/2005
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I have lived in the Citypointe Apartments now going on one year; during this time period I have had to deal with the most unprofessional management and leasing team I have been with before. My first thought of moving into The Citypointe Apartments was ?oh a brand new apartment, a fresh new start with new people who could live up to the image of what the Citypointe Apartments places itself out to be.? I soon found myself caught in a trap of utter filth and disappointment.
From my very first day I had to complain about the dirt within my brand new apartment. This white, dust powder seem to be everywhere and anything you touched you would get this white, dust powder on you. From walls, ceiling, and ventilation units this white, dust powder was everywhere. The smell from the brand new carpet did not have its usual new carpet smell but rather sort of a sewage type of smell. I addressed these issues with the Assistant Manager who just smiled and said we are under construction. The Assistant Manager said she would send a cleaning crew up to clean but no one ever came.
I decided to try and vacuum the new carpet to rid the really bad smell; as I did my vacuum began making all kinds of noises picking up everything from metal shavings, screws, and this thick layer of white, dust powder. I had to empty my vacuum bag three times just to complete three rooms of my apartment. I soon found they had never cleaned the carpets after installing and apparently worked while the carpet was laid. I then had to clean every closet and the entire kitchen from top to bottom including inside the brand new appliances. It took me two days just to complete that work.
I went to the leasing office to complain and the Assistant Manager quickly took me over to a place where away from the ears of new tenants applying. I found the Assistant Manager completely rude and had no care as to my complaints stating I had signed a lease agreement.
After some long hard cleaning of this white, powder dust I thought I had things under control only to find the white, powder dust to reappear. Apparently it was in the air duct system of my apartment. I placed a call to the leasing office and they sent the Maintenance Manager up to take a look. The Maintenance Manager and his friend claim to find nothing but yet they both had the white powder, dust on their hands. They replaced my A/C filter which they found to be completely clogged with this white powder dust. They told me that the new filter should take care of any further problems.
Well it didn?t and soon the white, powder dust reappeared. I called the leasing office and they proclaimed they had already sent maintenance out to my apartment and the problem was fixed. I had to go down to the leasing office in person to make a formal complaint. As I entered the leasing office they quickly went to get the Assistant Manager to assist me. Once again I was taken out of ear shot from new people looking at the floor plans. The Assistant Manager said it was my problem and that most likely I had brought the dust with me and totally dismissed my claim. This same white, powder dust can be found on every wall throughout the building including the elevator floors, hallway falls and hallway rails. Soon the Assistant Manager and the leasing people became very ignorant and would not even wish to speak with me in regards to anything. This was a total nightmare of a disaster, but I had to ?live up to my lease agreement?.
The real fun began as the building became more and more occupied by all these young adults, who turned out to Fullerton?s Junior College misfits. These college kids began destroying everything. Thursday night on into early Monday morning became a ritual of party nights for them and there friends. The soon became over-crowded and then the real games started. Pulling of fire alarms at all times of the evening and early morning hours, drunken kids yelling in hallways and urinating any place they decided deemed. Gangs moved in and soon made it clear who was boss. If you failed to give them their way you would pay dearly with your automobile; keying, breaking tail lights. These college kids would come in so drunk they would run into the cement pillars in the garage and also in to other peoples vehicles. They door ding your car with out any care; I had one college boy urinate all over the rear of my car and another who defecated on my front bumper.
The Citypointe Apartments has become a hiding place for multiple college kids to dwell within one Apartment after another. These people are so inconsiderate they do anything to destroy what ever they see. Sexual play takes place in the common hallways, ?that is always something to come home to and see?. The police are called all the time to break up fights, parties, and other. The Citypointe Management denies all allegations of any wrong doing. It?s no wonder the Management intimately denies all allegations of wrong doing being how what was once the Assistant Manager is now the Manager.
A neighbor had pointed out this website for me to look at and that neighbor was correct. You can plainly see how the internal leasing staff and Manager all place positive review?s on the apartment review guide. All of the negative reviews are correct right down to the management and leasing staff?s poor attitudes and mismanagement of managing an apartment building. This building is not as large as it may appear; approx. 500 units give or take and they can not control one thing. Maintenance personnel are a bunch of idiotic fools who do not know how to fix anything right the first time and not even on the third attempt.
The Citypointe Apartments are really a nightmare just as one review person had written. I will be glad when my lease expires so that I may move on to a much better living environment then what is found here at the Citypointe Apartments. I would not recommend Citypointe Apartments, Fullerton to my worse of friends. It is a total trash hole hidden behind a faade facial front and a very fake and unresponsive leasing staff and management.
