I hope things have changed since I moved out.

For one, it was one of the least desirable areas in Goleta. Don't walk around there at night. When I lived there, there was a drug bust one morning. The police were all over the complex and wouldn't allow anybody outside of their apartments. I was about an hour late for work that day.

2 doors down from me was a crazy man who played lude sound bytes everytime little children or elderly people passed his door...to be honest, that was kind of funny.

I had a studio apt, and so did my neighbors downstairs. But those neighbors had 3 people living in this apt (it was about 600 sq ft!). And their little girl never went to school, kinda weird, but that is the type of people who live there.

Also, when I moved out, I left the place in perfect condition. But I only got $30 back from my deposit.

Hi there! My family and I were one of the very first tenants at those apartments; we moved in late 1963 when the paint had barely dried. We lived first in apartment 30 upstairs, then a few months later transferred to downstairs apartment 82 in the adjacent building. My grandmother rented apartment 58 downstairs corner patioed area at same time as we lived in no. 82. In those times, the apartments were called the "Duke and Duchess," and were painted white.
