Avoid this apartment!

Yes, it has been renovated. Yes, it looks pretty on the exterior. But hear this before you even think about signing a lease with these people:

There is no official acting manager. Tony Monarco (805-570-6703) is the so-called on-site manager. His prior role was in facilities/maintenance, but during recent change in management he took the helm of "on site manager," despite knowing absolutely nothing about the formalities of running/regulating an apartment. If you want something fixed, he might get to it in a week. Otherwise you're on your own.

If you have any concerns about your parking spot getting taken constantly (with NO help from management to make sure this doesn't happen), if you want your security deposit in a timely manner, if you want to request a walk through...DON'T COME HERE. The management in this place is absolutely awful. They will smile and make you feel welcome when you tour the apartment and sign your lease, and from that point on they stick it to you in every way possible.

The former manager (Sachi) is no longer around. This place has absolutely no noise control, so if you are concerned about getting to sleep early, don't come here. Construction has been going on for the past year -- they begin jackhammering at about 7:30AM, so don't even think about sleeping in.

Because NOBODY who has endured this management over the past year is resigning their lease, the management is trying to get people in here at lower rates. However, these rates WILL change after your next signing (the management wishes to charge $1700/month for a single bedroom.

If you don't believe me, just knock on anyone's door who lives here before you sign the lease and get a second opinion. This place is hell.

KEEP IN MIND -- if it were someone else running this place. It could be better. Otherwise, note the name above, as well as the Manakara LLC. They will no doubt attempt to convince you that any rumors you may have heard are old and that the new management is good. Avoid Manakara LLC like the plague!
