The Tahitian apartment complex, located at 6739 El Colegio Rd. in Goleta, is a horrible place to try to make your home. Anything and everything that could possibly go wrong in an apartment complex has happened here. Nobody will give you answers, everybody is disrespectful, and it's impossible to get any sleep or relaxation here.

First off, after the ownership switched, they made all of the tenants move into a new unit...they'd kick you out of your's so they could remodel it, and then move you into a new one. Seriously, they actually had the nerve to force us to move apartments. Who the hell does that'! Nobody helped us while we were moving...the moving "staff" they hired was unhelpful and uncareful with our belongings. Plus, they only gave us six days notice that we would have to move units. Then they were doing construction every day, morning to evening...jackhammering up the concrete at 8:00 AM, blocking passageways with construction equipment, etc. Paint and construction debris was everywhere, and they had absolutely no concern for how it was affecting residents. At one point, there were three different construction vehicles around the pool area and blocking entrance points. It was a dangerous and noisy environment.

And if that's not enough to deter you from living here, there's the noise. Every day, beginning around 11:00 AM and lasting until 2:00 AM - 5:00 AM, there are idiot kids outside screaming, talking, singing, chanting, skateboarding, slamming gates and doors, canonballing in the pool, and just generally making WAY more noise than neccessary. These are kids who have come to Isla Vista this summer simply to party, who have no respect for the people who already live here. They are rude, vulgar, and don't comply with any noise warnings, even from our manager and the police. The Isla Vista Foot Patrol has been called out here at least five times, and even though people have signed noise complaints, the noise level has not lessened AT ALL. These kids are complete idiots with no regard for people who don't want to party 24 / 7. There have been people in this complex who have lost it and started screaming at these kids (including, several times, the manager), but they just simply laugh at you and continue on with their antics. It's impossible to get any sleep, to study, to relax, or to get anything productive done. It seems almost as if these kids are hell-bent on driving out all the normal people in this building.

Parking is a mess. People's cars get backed into, knocked into by drunk kids, and otherwise damaged all the time. People will back their cars into yours accidentally and just run away. The spots are tiny and it's easy to get blocked in all the time.

There is a huge problem with insects and frogs. This is also a new thing, since the ownership switched. We used to never have problems with bugs in our apartment, but lately, we've been finding spiders, moths, flies, etc. in our apartment all the time. We've also had quite a problem with ants lately, even though we are very clean and keep food out of the open in our kitchen.

The manager, Tony, who is actually a decent guy, just can't take it anymore and is leaving. He's tried to get these kids to shut up and stop making so much unneccessary noise, but they won't listen to him, which is making everyone else mad at him. He can't sleep and he's just sick of the situation. After he leaves, I'm not sure if we're going to have a new manager on-site. Plus, the former leasing agent, J.R., is a total and complete idiot. He actually gave our apartment to other tenants, and when we told him that we weren't going to be out on time (due to summer school), he pretty much said he didn't care. He either quit or was fired. The new leasing agent (I think her name is Isabella or something) is one of the loud, obnoxious, party kids...I don't know who the hell hired her, but she assuredly won't do anything to lessen the noise or try to make the situation more comfortable for anyone. All the idiot loud people are her friends that she parties with, so how the hell are we supposed to trust this girl with our money and our lease'

And $1675 a month for a one-bedroom apartment'! Are you crazy'!

The owners, an elusive company named Manakara LLC, has absolutely no regard for tenants rights. All they care about is making money. They didn't care at all about the people who already lived here before they took over, and they don't care about us now. They refuse to evict people just because they don't want to lose the money, even if these people are terrorizing everyone else who lives here. And one of the co-owners (I think his name is Ross) is incredibly rude and patronizing. These people don't give a crap about the tenants who are trying to make their homes here, they simply care about the bottom line.

I know this has been the longest review ever, but I want people to realize the gravity of the situation: DO NOT EVER LIVE HERE, OR IN ANY OTHER BUILDING OWNED BY MANAKARA, LLC. YOU WILL BE MISERABLE AND DISRESPECTED. I hope the company loses all their money.

I was just wondering are they legally allowed close the pool, i just moved in, and i have no pool beacuse the owner informed me some people were making noise throughout the night. thanks

hi, i was living there the past summer and think the place is an absolute joke. everybody got screwed outta their deposits, those crazy russian construction workers have the run of the place and simply turn off the power if the noise gets too much at their discretion, and the management seem to think they can lock the pool to punish everyone because the irish kids are too loud. Saying that some of the americans are pretty bad too, and theres not much point about giving out about noise during the day, pretty much everywhere in IV is the same

I completely agree with the review, but I don't agree with anonymous 2. i've lived here two years now,and last year this place was quiet all the time- it was unlike the rest of IV. There were occasions when the noise was too much, but you could get ahold of management day and night to fix it. and the puke all over the building? that's new since the Irish moved in. Who throws up on someones car???

This place is HELL! Do not ever live there if you can avoid it! There is some manager there now named Margie Rivera who's probably eventually gonna catch a bullet from pissing someone off because she's such a stupid idiot! Her husband is screwing all the chics, so she's bitter and tries to make life hard for everyone. The ----- actually locks people out of the building at night so they can't get into their apartments. Hopefully, she'll get run over by a bus or something and they'll get a real manager.

The owners are a bunch of money hungry leaches.and this pice of ---- J.R. should die of gonneria and rot in hell!!!!but i disagree with this past response. margie rivera is my only hope in these apartaments. and i would never consider a response as childish as this i am ashamed to have lived in the same building as you

I agree that JR isn't a great eater, but the manager's husband is pretty good. He stays right on that spot til you get yours...and he pays for it too! But I'm kinda scared I might have caught somethin even worse than the big G! Have you seen his wife...? Ugggghhh
