This Place Sucks!!!

Idealistically my husband and I moved here to the Highlands. We thought- "Hey what a nice looking apartment complex, it's in Grand Terrace- it's a nice city." Well, you like it for a little while and then you start hearing people blaring their radios... walls so paper thin you could hear what the downstairs neighbors are watching or listening to... if they are arguing, babies are crying.
Okay so when you look over your tenant agreement and you see that there are guidelines about the music blaring- you think to yourself that you have a way to stop your noisy neighbors from becoming a constant nuisence. Tough luck. First you tell them which apartment you are from and once they suspect you are making a complaint they turn you a cold ear.
Parking sucks. People think they are gangsters and start blasting their rap or R&B or Heavy Metal. Great, they must think I want to listen to their crappy music so they turn it up really loud, bass rattling my windows when I am trying to relax in my apartment... then, they forget how to park. Park sideways so no one else can park there and have to park really far away.
Actual apartment- their microwaves are like going into a 1970's museum. really. The toilet is made of plastic so don't try to clean it with a "toilet brush" or it will scratch the surface.
Staff- manager is rarely there, doesn't listen to the tenants complaints or pretends like she gives a care. Other staff will give their "friends" preferential treatment so if they (the friends) are parking in your spot, don't expect the staff to do anything about it.
The rent increases are unreal... it's funny... when they send you a notice to let you know your lease is up they send you how much more money it is going to cost you to hate living in your apartment, it makes a note that the longer you stay at the Highlands the more benefits you will receive... yeah right... for the only two years that i will have lived here i haven't received any great benefit other than having to dread coming home to booming bass, noisy neighbors, little snot nosed kids next door running up and down the stairs like elephants, downstairs neighbors thinking they are running a damn discotecha playing their 991 KGGI stereos when all i want to do is enjoy coming home after a long day of work.
The "Fitness Center" is open from like 9 AM to 9 PM, so anyone with other shifts won't like it.
If your apartment comes with Fridge and W/D don't expect them to take the appliances out if you plan to eventually buy ones for yourself. You'll have to tough out "renting" the appliances and then have to move into another apartment that does not come with appliances.
Heck, with all they indicate on their new advertisements...."California Living" or whatever it's no wonder that people will love living at the Highlands.
