I Don't Feel Safe

After reading the reviews below, seeing the car whose tires were stripped, calling the police after hearing a gunshot and dealing with 3-4 barking dogs nearby, I'm going to have to NOT recommend The Highlands Apartments. It's true they wooed us with the idea of security gates (Never closed and even if they were, anyone could get it anytime by following a resident in) and the patrolling by the POLICE.
When we moved in, we DIDN'T HAVE HOT WATER IN THE KITCHEN. I'm not kidding. Do you realize how much that sucks to have to boil water to wash dishes or get it from the bathtub' It took MONTHS for someone to come and fix it (we were told they were short on maintenance staff because a whole bunch of people just quit).
Eventhough our fixtures are ancient, our carpet was new when we moved in and it was clean. But we can't turn on our bathtub faucet without it coming on full blast, there's no variance in the water pressure. That's annoying but liveable.
I'm mostly worried about the safety. I've heard of people getting broken into. And I have seen atleast two cars vandalized right next to where I park.
