I regrettably lived in the Crest for 2 years. I was suckered in by a really good move-in special, but now I know why they had to try so hard to bait new tenants.
Its dirty - I kid you not they have signs posted all over the poorly maintained facilities stating that chemicals used in the buildings are hazardous to your health. They are required by California law to do this, although they try and conceal the signs behind bushes/trees.
Crime - I've personally had things stolen out of my garage storage area, along with many of my neighbors. Someone tried to break into my neighbor s apt in broad daylight while she was home alone with her son. We all knew it was the pervy maintenance man because they used a key to unlock the bottom knob, but management wouldn t admit it.
Management - Specifically: Betty, Patricia, and anyone who they train. Here I could go on forever. They tried to charge me for new paint even though I'd lived there for two year (Against CA law), they never repaired the moldy carpet in my closet which was a result of a busted pipe, they treat you like zoo animals after the lease is signed, every time I go in to pay rent they look at you like you just walked in on them eating dinner at home and shoo you out accordingly. In short, they will go out of their way to NOT help you. Every, every neighbor I've spoken to in my two years instantly complained about these miserable miserable people. How they are still employed I have no idea.
Good riddance Crest. I now have a nicer 2 bedroom, with personal laundry and balcony, for the same price I was paying for a single at the Crest. And it s right down the street.
