This Place Puts Up a Good Front!

I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. The apartment is nice, but parking is outrageous! I have complained several times, but they basically told me tough cookies! I end up parking outside of the gated community half the time and jumping the fence! In the contract it says grills are not allowed on your little patio outside, but they told me it's ok! Beware of this, because if something happenes they will use it against you, after all you signed the contract! They are very sneaky and backstabbing!

I ABSOLUTELY agree w/ the writer about them being backstabbing. They are a bunch of hypocrites too! They just want your money.

I absolute agree too.
I remember the washer near my apartment was broken-for FOUR MONTHS!!! Every week, when I would do laundry, I complained to the office, and nothing.
So, I had to schlep my laundry halfway around the complex.
I am about to move out, so I am sure that I will get charged up the yin yang and am just holding my breath in anticipation of the aggravation that will be dealing with these people.
My friend got charged to replace her carpets when she moved out.
The carpets were NOT new when she moved in...three years ago!!!!
They would have had to replace the carpets no matter what...ummm, isn't that what RENT is for?? To help pay for the overhead of running the place?
Am I mistaken about something here??
I had a leak in my living room ceiling due to a leaky roof (no upstair neighbor). I'm sure somehow I'll get charged for that when I move out (they will have to cover up the water damage obviously).
It took them a month to fix the ceiling. Meanwhile, I was stuck with a hole in my ceiling! When I inquired (politely!!) as to when my ceiling would be fixed, I was rudely told by the maintainence guy
"It's wet. Do you want me to get on the roof and fall off???" JERK!
And for the record, it was an extremely dry year, and no, I don't expect anyone to get on the roof and fall off on my behalf.
Oh yea, and as far as safety goes, my lap top was stolen by an employee when I went to China for 10 days.
Please DO NOT move into this place!! Its over-priced and it's on its way downhill.

I sooo agree. I also lived at Edgewater and while I was away deployment, my apt got burglarized. I was not informed until a month later. The person who informe me was the detective that was working on my case! I called the management and asked why they failed to inform me, and their response was that the detective said he would and that they did not have my e-mail address. I told them that they were not being truthful because the det. told me he got my e-mail address from them. The lady on the phone thought that because she stayed with the contactors that repaired my window, that I should be grateful.
If you are planning on moving to this apt. complex, good luck! I recommend you don't.
To add to this, the gate does not work. If you have someone visiting you and they happen to arrive when the gates are closed, you will have to get up & walk over with your remote to let them in!
