Wow, this place is awful. Thankfully, I got out, but my poor mother is still stuck there.
First of all, the maintenance is horrible! You have to call the office a dozen or more times just to get someone to come and LOOK at the problem, and then you're stuck waiting another month or longer for someone to do anything about it. I've had many problems with them, but this is the worst: Two years ago, the apartment above mine had a leaky dishwasher, and the water was dripping into my apartment. The maintenance men came, tore a huge hole in the ceiling, said they'd fix it the next week, and never came back. The hole is STILL there. I reminded them of the hole several times. Once, a guy even told me it was UNSAFE, and that he would be back the next day to at least board it up, but he never returned.
There is always loud music playing, and even though the management insists they will put an end to the noise if you only give them a call, it never stops. One time, the manager wanted to talk to my mom about something (nothing important, as I later found out...), and instead of calling, knocking on the door a couple times, leaving a note, or whatever, he came and banged on the door yelling her name for 15 minutes. I was home alone and actually AFRAID to answer the door because it sounded like he'd gone mad.
The community is gated, but the gates are always broken, so it doesn't matter. They annoyed me more than they kept me safe. I was sitting at a table by a laundry room at about 9pm when a man approached me and tried to grab my chest. I could smell someone smoking pot nearly every night, and one guy even came to my bedroom window when it was open one night to ask if I would sell him some weed! There was a homeless guy going through the dumpsters every night, and he wasn't nice...he was actually really creepy. I wouldn't take my trash out past 7pm. Two cars were stolen from the gated parking lot in the same night. See how wonderfully those gates work when it comes to keeping out scumbags' I guess half the scumbags in Hemet live there anyway!
A friend of mine lived in an apartment over a woman who had 28 cats! The fleas were EVERYWHERE. Yet the management seemed more concerned over whether or not we had a dog (we didn't) than the fact that this woman had half a million cats in her tiny apartment, when you're only allowed to have two!
I should probably stop now, as this is turning into a novel. Please, PLEASE do not look into living at this place. It's dirty, loud, and the gates don't protect a single thing. Oh, and by the way...the place is infested with cockroaches. Awesome!
