Victoria Village Apartments

Unpleasant From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/8/2003 Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2003   We've lived here for three years, the ONLY reason this is, is because we're having trouble finding something in a nice neighborhood within our price range. We have repeatedly asked to have the same things fixed that have been broken for a year or two and it has still not happened. IF someone finally does come to your apartment to fix something they have a very uppity attitude and treat you as if you caused the problem from being incompetant. This only doesn't happen if you happen to be good friends with the manager. The apartments are very dark and have horrible air flow, you have to open the windows and put a fan in to get the air moving so that the stuffiness will leave. When they paint, they do one coat from floor to ceiling, even right over the baseboards, and I mean flat paint on baseboards in all rooms but the kitchen and baths. There is no division on the wall between the kitchen and dining areas and they still switch sheens of paint in these areas, very tacky looking. We have had a car radio stolen out of one of our cars and they said they have no tape or record of it, which I find very hard to believe. There is alot of traffic in and out of here day and night...take your own conclusions from that. There are shopping carts laying around all over the place...very trashy looking. Ther eis a sign that there are to be no children unsupervised in the pool and NEVER to be in the spa at all. This happens all the time. There are children who ride their bikes very fast throughout the walking areas even to the point of running into smaller children and nothing is done about it. The sprinkler system has been broken for the entire three yers that we have lived here causing puddles of standing water and mud every day. the reason is that the management runs over the sprinkler heads with the golf cart that they speed throughout the complex in. Rent has been raised twice since we've been here for "maintenance purposes"...the only real maintenance that I have seen are new t-shirts for the staff, they did replace the fence around the pool which does look better. They did also reasphalt the parking area, but, when they renumbered the spaces they moved our parking area 3 times further away from our apartment and a close parking space was part of the reason we chose to live here in the first place. For the most part, I really haven't had a noise problem, I've lived in places where that was a big problem. One other good point is that they have been cooperative when we've had to pay rent late, which is very nice. But, for the most part, we just hide indoors.
