Living at Sandpiper for about a year.
Pros: Great for dog owners. Only a $500 pet deposit with no pent rent. Very well maintained grounds with lots of trees, grass, and flowers. Very nice pool area with spa. The apartment managers are very friendly and are quick to help you. Plenty of parking. There are lots of openings into the complex from the parking lot, so it is always easy to find a spot close to your apartment. Downstairs apartments have very large patio areas (no balcony for 2nd story apts). Apartments have big pantries and lots of cupboards for storing things. Guests can enter apartment complex without a resident letting them in. The walls seem to be very thick, so you can't hear your neighbors. The Beach Blvd location makes it very convenient to the freeway, Target, Bella Terra Mall, restaurants, and many other businesses. There is no noise from Beach Blvd.
Cons: Very noisy (especially during weekdays), because of dogs barking constantly in the window. When taking a shower, it constantly goes hot and cold. You have to keep adjusting the handle. This is VERY obnoxious and really needs to be fixed. The laundry is kind of expensive. It is $2.25 per load and only takes quarters. A modern laundry card system should be used. Gate keeping non-resident cars out, does break down about once or twice a week. Mailboxes are only in one area, so you might have to hike to get your mail.
Misc: Very diverse group of residents. Ranges from very sloppy people to business types. There are not very many kids in the complex. I haven't heard about any crimes happening at the Sandpiper
