I was like you at one point. Reading reviews thinking... "oh, they're writing negative reviews because they did not follow the rules. They can't be that bad. It's so beautiful. We have to move there." The reality is the negative reviews are 100% true and the positive reviews are 100% false. The leasing staff sits in the clubhouse with nothing to do...just sitting around thinking about the next family they are going to con, so they have plenty of time to write multiple reviews.

Yes, there are mold, smoke, poop, and loud neighbor problems, but the part that bugs me the most is the rude leasing office staff people. I pay 1750 per month for a 1 bed/1 bath. The least they can do is be polite and not snooty and condescending when I have a maintenance request. Also, considering the fact that they work in a clubhouse selling apartments... they have nothing to be egotistical about. But that's another story. The only good thing about Anacapa is the hardworking maintenance and cleaning staff. If you want to step on dog poop on the way to your apartment and be spoken to rudely by the unaccomplished, overpaid, sl**ty (fill in the blank), leasing staff, then come on over to Anacapa and shell out 1,750 dollars. If you want a nice relaxing lifestyle, GO ELSEWHERE. Save yourself a headache and humiliation and avoid this complex at all costs.

I couldn't agree more. My husband and I are so thrilled that our lease is up in August. We can't wait to get the heck out of here. Awful place to live, and worst apartment I have ever had.

I have lived in the complex for almost a year and love it. I have a two bedroom two bath apt over the garages and do hear some noise from the the family above me but nothing unreasonable. Very clean grounds, maintained almost too well. Maintenance staff was always fast and good. Very nice complex! with friendly staff! If you had mold it must have been due to your inability to clean up after yourself.
