Yo!

Mixed Review - but cheapest in Irvine

I've been living at Park West for almost 2 years now and I have to say my review is really mixed.

Pros:
I got lucky enough to get an apartment with a decent view and location - I have a view of one of the pools.
Out of most of the Irvine Company apartments located near UC Irvine - Park West has the biggest floor plans, which means you won't have to squish 2 people to share a room.

Cons:
Noise - we have families on either side of us. The one that shares our bedroom wall with us has 2 children that throw temper tantrums at 2 AM, and the walls are so thin we can hear their speaker phone dialing out (which we've told them repeatedly to STOP using) Basically, you're not going to get a very quiet apartment, you'll either be near a family or college students, or dogs (since they think the best policy for having dogs is to put them all in the same area...makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to me because they just bark AT each other!)
Maintenance - they are fairly quick to fix problems - clogged drains, lightbulbs, etc. I've had 2 unpleasant experiences with them - our oven stinks, there's no other way of putting it, and when I talked to them about it they told me it wasn't broken (it totally is). I also had to have our front window screen replaced because it had a slight dent in it when we moved in and it just warped more and more until it became extremely easy to remove (and break into our apartment!) When the maintenance guy came to replace it, he came into our apartment (no need to) and accused my roommate of breaking the screen!! She had just moved in a few months before and was very confused because she was sure no one had broken the screen. He told her we were going to have to pay for a new screen but I'm guessing someone set him straight because the next thing I knew the screen was replaced and I haven't seen a bill!

Basically, Park West isn't THAT bad - I've seen some pretty bad apartment complexes, and it's fairly clean and well kept on the outside. The problem is that it's one of the cheapest places to live in Irvine so it attracts a lot of unsavory people - large families and dirty college students. Park West is one of the oldest apartment complexes as well so some of the buildings aren't in the greatest shape.
Basically - if you're looking for a cheap place to live in Irvine, it's your best bet - if you want something better for the same price you need to look OUTSIDE Irvine! AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt
