I've lived at Turtle Ridge for 3 years now, so I know it inside and out. It's one thing to pay alot of a new place with great service. It's another thing to pay alot for POOR service and a community that is not even nice anymore.

Here are the things you should watch out for if you decide to take a look at this place:

1.) All the townhomes back up to the 73 freeway. Make sure you stop by at 6pm at night or 8 am in the morning to see how loud this is!!

2.) There is only 1 jacuzzi for 500 apartments!! That's like 1,000 people (and their guests) and only 1 place to hang out. There are several old men with weird nail funguses and RASHES (residents know who I'm talking about) who like to hang there and bother girls like myself and my friends. Never going there again!! You have been warned!!

3.) Friends have told me that all the units along Bonita Canyon side (#800's) have serious problems with bugs crawling in under the doors. They are like WORMS that can hop I guess' WEIRD!! I know 3 people who moved out because of them. The Leasing Office did NOTHING about them. The Exterminator said he couldn't prevent them from coming back either since that side get so little sunlight.

4.) There are homeless -------- who come in a van 3 times a week or more to root through your trash. I was horrified the first time I had a guest point it out to me. Now I just don't have friends over. One of the guys who roots through the trash is actually a RESIDENT. The leasing office knows and doesn't do anything.

5.) I've heard from many residents that the washing machines are getting rusty and ruining clothes. It happened to me and to my neighbor. The Leasing Office says that Renter's Insurance should cover it. I can't replace the clothes that I lost and I don't think I should have to worry about having a decent washing machine when I'm paying $2000/mo!

6.) Like many have mentioned, the parking is horrible. Never any spots for guests and they don't have any guest parking at all.

So besides noise, the weird guys at the jacuzzi, the WORMS inside the apartments, the homeless people sifting thru your trash, the rusty washing machines, and the bad parking.....Turtle Ridge isn't too bad. Of yeah, I forgot - the staff is horrible too. No one knows what is going on. They change them every few months and then blame all the problems on the past management.

One last thing: I heard the construction guys took DUMPS in the bath tubs when they were being built. Keep that in mind if you like to take baths......

Good luck if you live here because you will need it! (I won't be around much longer)

Turtle ridge does suck they gym is the size of a closet with one machine who cares if it has a TV or not. its very expensive and you getting treated really bad. they try and raise the rent as often as they can, they are only nice when they want you to move in then it all ends. the place is hell, its getting really gross and its so loud. they will keep every last cent of your depsoit no matter how clean you leave the place so be aware of that so why bother trying to leave the place nice. I changed units they took a new deposit, i left the other place in perfect condition and they still kept the deposit and said they had to paint and clean when they had to do nothing. Don't skip a walk through. I feel so bad for all the people at turtle ridge and the parking is really bad and garage is way to small for a car and hard to pull in. I guess the ones that have full drive ways may be better. Over all this is bad place, and everyone who lives here knows it.

I am a resident at Turtle Ridge and I have been living here for 6 months and I have had the most pleasant experience! The above review is a joke. Clearly the person who wrote it is angry at someone and instead of handling the problem maturely and speaking to someone, they are just bad talking like a coward on an anonymous message board. I live in the 700's section of Turtle Ridge and yes there is a little less light (sun hits my place from 2pm-5pm in the summer). However I never had a bug problem. I did have a small ant problem one time but that was because I dropped crumbs on the floor. You do need to make sure you keep food/garbage in the garbage or else you will get some ants. But it is nothing that bad like the way the people above are making it sound. Regarding the noise, I live in the 700's section and there is NO NOISE PROBLEM at all. In fact this is the item that I was so impressed with when I moved in. I live on the 1'st floor and it is wonderful. I OCCASSIONALY hear footsteps above and it sounds like the lady walks around in heels above me on the kitchen floor which is annoying, but that is only once in a while. As far as traffic noise, I hear NONE. It is truly a peaceful community. There is one family that is annoying though that is always out with their kids whether it be morning, afternoon, or night. They leave their bikes next to their door which is rude. But it is nothing overly aggrevating. Regarding the comment of the hot tub/jacuzzi problem, I do not see a problem. I look forward to hitting the spa every night. Once in a while, yes there are some older guys, but I wouldn't say they are nasty or weird as the user above described. The spa is very large, it can easily fit 20 people comfortably. And yes there are several hundred residents but not once have I been to the spa with more than 5 people in it! Very relaxing! The pool scene here is amazing. Every Saturday and Sunday it is packed with cute girls and good looking guys. You will enjoy it. Most of the people seem to be professionals or young couples. Very few families with little kids. Regarding the parking, yes it is bad, but not nearly as bad as people make it out to be! I have 1 car and I live on my own and I park it in the garage. If I have a guest or friend visiting they always can find a spot before 7pm. After 7pm until 7am it can be a bit of a challenge, but at worst you walk 100 yards to park in a lot next door, BIG DEAL! The gym is small as the user above noted but come on, you can join 24 hour fitness for less than $30/month. I personally cannot work at a home gym or small gym like here. I need the motivation to work amongst my peers in al arger venue. The gym here is a courtesy, It shouldn't be your only gym location! It is more a nice benefit to be able to go do a few curls or ab crunches before you go to the pool! They have 3 treadmills too which is great. Only recomendation I have for the gym is to put a water cooler in there, that would be nice. The landscapes of Turtle Ridge is beautiful. Maintenance does a great job. They respond to inquiries an issues very quickly. I have not had anything but a pleasant experience from the day I negotiated my contract all the way through to 6 months later. When I have guests over to my "pad" they are impressed and are enamored with how modern and upscale the community is. The units are at worst maybe 4 years old? They are all done in white walls and light carpet color. It is a trendy, hip, modern, upscale gated community to live in. No complaints from me. The only thing I do fear is that they will raise the rent on me if I decide to do another 1 year contract. Depending upon how much if any is how I will make my decision to stay, if it is the same, I will stay here for another happy, care-free, wonderful year. Turtle Ridge is a GREAT place to live and this review is from a real resident, me, and I am just that happy with the place that I wanted to counter the above ridiculous statements. Go check out other places and then check out Turtle Ridge, it blows away the other apartments.

Just today, they replaced the TV's in the exercise room. After 4 years, we get new TV's. Yeah! And they are flat-screens. We needed them badly, as for so long the TV's were messed up. Sadly, they just won't correct the parking problems here at Turtle Ridge. It has always been really bad, and it still is. There just isn't enough parking, and people are too lazy to walk to the lot in front of the leasing office. So they park illegally. They park in red zones. They leave their cars sticking halfway out into the street, parked in front of their garages. It is dangerous and it looks awful. We have pleaded with management to do something about the parking problem, but they just don't care. They will send a useless letter filled with empty threats. So sad. We pay all this money every month. We deserve enforced parking policies. Tow the illegally parked cars and then the parking problem will disappear. I would disagree with the above review about the pooping in the tubs by the construction workers. My tub was new and poop-free when I moved in years ago. Please, Turtle Ridge. We are begging you. Fix the illegal-parking situation here at the right side of Turtle Ridge. Please! Please patrol every night and tow the cars. You will need to patrol every night. Thank you.

Did you not notice the size of the gym before you moved in? I've been in there several times and I have counted quite a bit more than one machine in there. I recently transferred to another apt here and got my full deposit back, maybe you weren't as clean as you thought. P.S. - do you need training classes on how to park in a garage? It's really not hard at all, unless you are driving some insanely large SUV.
