Turtle Ridge is in a great location above Irvine and UCI, just a block away from the Newport Beach/Newport Coast border. It's very pet friendly, though the pet deposit and rent is steep. The apartments are very nice and well appointed. Built in washer/dryer is WAY more convenient than I'd ever imagined. Single car garages are just barely big enough to fit your standard American car comfortably. The staff is great, very helpful (though I've got my doubts about that Depak guy) and willing to go out of their way to help with most anything. The pool is always beautiful and very clean. Great atmosphere, very quiet though it's by the 73 toll road. Actually, there are several things that make the location not quite as idyllic as it seems. I believe the old Newport dump is located up the hill from us, and there's a cell phone tower and water pump on the corner of the property. If you're not indoctrinated with a near mortal fear of chemicals and radio frequency radiation then Turtle Ridge is a GREAT choice. Expensive for sure, but considering the neighborhood, you're not going to do much better.

CPhoto98, you obviously do not live in the 800 or 900 section of the complex where illegal parking is still a problem. People illegally park in red zones and/or in front of garage doors with the car sticking out into the street. People are too lazy to park at the leasing office and then walk to their apartment.
People frequently wash their cars, when car washing is not permitted inside the complex.
Turtle Ridge's enforcement of their rules is nonexistent. The only rule they are willing to enforce is the rule where rents must increase with each lease renewal.
You raved about the washing machines included, which decreases your credibility, when the washers don't even have a basic fabric softener dispenser. Either you manually add the liquid softener to the rinse cycle or you use the Downey Ball.
There is a bug problem in the complex, both inside and outside (inside you will probably get ants and spiders and silverfish).
There are still a few apartments where the tenants will throw loud balcony parties after 11 (yet another rule Turtle Ridge refuses to enforce).
For nearly $1,600 and up on the rent here, Turtle Ridge should enforce all the rules.
