Villa Coronado

I lived in Villa Coronado for two years, and generally had a good experience.

Pluses:

1.) Nice location if you work in Irvine, since it's very close to all the office buildings and you don't have to drive very far. Nice location for young professionals.

2.) Nice amenities (washer/dryer, dishwasher, individual garage for each unit, etc.)

3.) Generally pretty quiet, not much of a party scene here.

4.) Maintenance is excellent, very quick response time.

Minuses:

1.) I had some problems with ants in my unit. Also, I had a mouse problem, which I believe was unique. Still, I was annoyed to have these kinds of problems with the high rent I was paying.

2.) If you live on the 1st or 2nd floor, you may hear the footsteps of the people in the above unit. I lived on the 3rd floor, and got some complaints from my neighbor below for walking too "loudly." But this is apparently a common problem with a lot of apartments.

3.) Not enough parking. A parking permit system has been put in place to try to solve this problem.

4.) Not much of a community spirit. Many of the residents don't know each other and there are a lot of corporate residents.
