So I responded to the internet sex ad of a closeted --- guy who is a resident at Villa Siena. He gave me the address and the apartment number. I arrive at the gate and I speak to the resident on the phone to confirm the apartment number. The guards ask me for the apartment number and my name. Then they give me a pass. They never ask me for the resident name and they let me in.

I go knock at the door of the resident's apartment and he does not answer the door. I call him and he does not respond. I call security and ask them if the phone number that I have matches the apartment and if the resident had ever called them to authorize my entry. They said that they do not need the resident permission, they allow everyone to enter.

In short when I entered I assumed that every guest must be authorized to enter the property by a resident but that is not the case.

Agree. The appearance of security that does not actually work is dangerous not only for residents but also for guests. This resident at the complex demonstrated erratic behaviour, he put other residents at risk by mobilizing security. As a guest I feel threatened once I learned that security asked me for the apartment number that I was visiting but never disclosed to me that they never received authorization from the resident. Then the resident changed his mind about having sex and instead of letting me know he called security. I checked online and this Villa Siean resident posts about 20 ads a month soliciting sex at his apartment, so I would not be suprised that similar situations occur at other times.

Doesn't surprise me in the least! Traffic gates are often broken, non-residents 'trail' residents onto the property, and pedestrian gates don't even lock on the property's 'frontage'. When I call the gate to inform them that I am expecting someone, I'm often told it's unnecessary to call! Our peaceful(?) little community has been vandalized, robbed at gun-point, broken-into, injured, and threatened... and then brushed off by management. Seriously, think twice before signing a lease here! It's a beautiful place if your deaf AND just plain stupid!
