I have lived in VS for several years and I've seen the quality deteriorate.

More so in the past 1 1/2 years.

There's new management staff but seems even less effective or concerned than the previous staff.

Based on other posts there is no need to tailgate to get into the complex.

You can simply go up to the "guard" at the main entrance and give any random building (try Bldg 20...its the one that also has the main office) and random apartment number (try a range from 220-245).

They don't validate you are authorized anyway.

Management is not concerned with the poor security on the complex when so many residents complain.

Or simply read how many posts here express the lack of real security.

They only pass out fliers after the fact of an incident.

They are TOO lazy to be proactive to deter crime.
In addition, for many years most of the pedestrian gates (like the ones not immediately next to the vehicle entrances....near the tennis court, on Michelson, on the fire lane between VS and the complex next to VS) remain unlocked.

Anyone can enter or leave with your bike or whatever else they decide to steal.

Maybe a few people complained but I've seen a few times where you find the gate actually locked but your key doesn't work.

When someone complained about that, they answer by keeping the gate unlocked or they just remove the entire lock and handle and never replace it (look at the gate near the tennis court on Jamboree).

Just push it open as you please.
Also some joker seems to be pulling fire alarms more frequently at night.

You would think VS would increase security patrols, but that's not the case.

No one seems to care.
