So far, so good

I've lived here for six months and so far I can't really complain. Keeping in mind that these buildings were not built yesterday (small bathrooms, small tubs, small shower). Water in the shower is clean/clear, decent water pressure. The kitchen design (color) is not my favorite, but had new dishwasher and simple oven. Many outside parts of the apartment complex look very inviting with nicely done lawns, brooks, BBQ grills, etc. Wish I had more plants/grass right in front of my apartment, like the others. Not sure if they are still working on this. There is a clubhouse and swimming pool - haven't used that yet, but looks nice. Having more than one car can be a headache. There are unassigned lots, but after noontime they fill up. The gates regularly close in the evening. Seemed to be broken at one time, but has been fixed. Depending on where you live in the complex, you can hear the traffic from Frwy 91, if the window is open. Most people I see here seem to be professionals; it is rarely noisy (meaning, I haven't heard anyone's loud music, except occasional cars rolling by; never seen the police here). If what people are driving is of any indication, I'd say this is a good/stable mix of tenants. The rent is soso - I mean I can't say that it's cheap, since I pay double for half the space I had in a different state. So, I accepted that many things are different, i.e., sharing laundry room (if your neighbours are curtious, they will not leave their laundry in the washers/dryers forever), but it's a good system, since the units tell you exactly how much time you have . Recently, my access card got stuck in the dryer. This happened at night, and a security guard responded to my call a few minutes later, although she couldn't help me get my card back, but took down the info and a report was filed with the manager's office the next day. When I called the managers office to have them check the doorlock of the door to my storage unit, someone showed up promptly the next day and fixed it (guy spoke English). In fact, I see the little repair carts all over the place, but so far nothing else needed fixing in my apartment.
I just read the other comments about mold and rats -- sounds scary, but I can't report any of this thus far. Haven't gotten sick either. I've been trying to get a bigger place here, and there is even a waiting list (that's what I've been told by the manager's office; people there seem nice).
So, based on my experience so far, I think it's a decent place.
