This place is pretty cheap but I know why! when I lived there the ac unit was ancient and horrible! the rooms would get so steaming hottttt so i spend most of my time in the living room, literally right next to the ac unit to keep somewhat cool. The fact that they do not have a patio really makes it claustraphopic. There is a lumber yard and a baseball field right next to the apartments and it gets really noisy. Some of the families here are super loud with their kids (yelling, constantly screaming) I felt unsafe walking to my apartment every night...I did not renew my lease and I advise people to look somewhere else to stay!

Thank you, I totally agree about the A/C. Mine was an original unit, from the 70's, and management (not the current management you have now) literally told me "don't be fooled into thinking a newer unit will be any more energy efficient than what you have." Hmm, well, now I live in a place with literally twice the square footage, and it did not cost more to cool it this summer...possibly because the newer A/C was more efficient?? When I moved out, the new manager said it was the oldest A/C she had seen in the complex. That lumber yard next door is unsightly; there used to be bushes inside the property that covered them, but they were removed for some reason. Yes, it's getting noisier, and towards the end of my living there I also felt somewhat unsafe walking around at night.

Thank the both of you for posting this. The lumber yard and whatever other industrial sites around there are so loud, even throughout the night! And the loud trucks that bang and speed down the back road are noisy and unsettling. I think most, if not all rooms have those old fake-wood 70's AC that hardly work and cost a TON in utility bills! In the months I had to use it, the bill was ~$80, as opposed to $17-20. Same with the old, old heaters they have there. The grounds look so dumpy as do the apartment exteriors and interiors. I lived on the back side and there was always some bum(s) rummaging through the trash dumpster, it felt so unsafe to throw out old bills and bank statements. I also felt somewhat unsafe and insecure walking around at night, and during the day it wouldn't be uncommon to have groundskeepers or other male tenants loitering around catcalling, staring and checking out other female tenants as if the place were a meat market. They no longer have a lot of amenities after switching management - such as the "office" where you could use the computer, internet, print and fax. Not sure if the "gym" still exists, not that it ever really did before (a dumbbell and a mini trampoline the size of a dinner plate). Go somewhere else, the cops frequent this place and told me there are also a lot of calls out here for car vandalism and theft. You will not find peace living here; a home should make you feel safe!
