I have lived in Orange county (irvine, newport beach, mission viejo, laguna hills) for 9 years and this is by far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. One week after moving in there was a knife fight under my balcony between 5 drunks that were residents. In the time I lived there, there were countless burglaries (first floor sliding glass doors were like OPEN signs) there was a gang fight / shooting that ended in a homocide and police tape for days. I don't know how they screen residents but the OC rental prices should not apply there because they are unlike the OC in that they are very UNSAFE! I feared for the safety and security of my apartment and my vehicle while living there. In addition to that PARKING IS HORRIBLE! My roomate was towed and ticketed twice for having to park on the street. We are supposed to get 2 parking spaces and really were only able to park one vehicle at any one time. Over the course of one year I saw at least 9 different managers working in the office. They can not seem to keep a staff on for any amount of time, the result is that persistant problems (no hot water in the laundry room) never get fixed. The staff is also rude and disrespectful to the residents. They treat everyone like a criminal, granted many of thier residents are, but the staff is horrible! I requested contact information for the corporate office of ARNELL management to file a formal complaint and the manager gave me some bogus number that I have tried to call about 20 times and no one ever answers. As for other things like noise, there is always loud music, sounds of neighbors fighting and beating thier wives, sounds of people having sex in the parking lot, and on top of all that, the police are called to the complex at least twice a week! This place should be shut down by the housing authority!
