Yo!

Know what your renting

Unlike most people here I have had no bug problems in my building but others have not been so lucky. Management recently had to "nuke" the workout room to deal with a bug problem, so if you rent here keep that in mind.

Also take note that Prado is a product of the 1970s so it has thin walls and very little space between buildings which makes it very easy to hear people talking, closing doors, taking showers etc etc. You will be able to hear not only the music playing in the apartment below or above you but the music playing in the building next door too. Prado also has water leakage and mold problems, I have not had any issues, but management does do an inspection of every apartment twice a year to look for water leaks and black mold.

Currently the apartment complex is overcrowed (many apartment complexes in and around Laguna hills suffer from this) so parking/noise/trash are problems.

The owners of Prado have done a good job of updating the place but these are surface changes only. Hardwood floors, new cabinets, etc can't hide the "lowend" construction of the place. It was built in the 1970's and still has alot of that eras building issues.( air conditioning is nothing more then a wall unit in the living room, recently I have seen some updated wall units but I still have the box from the 70s)

The maintance staff is great, the office staff are ok (I don't deal with them more then once a year so have nothing to really say about them).

Crime is also an issue, its not as bad as before, but you can expect to see cops coming to or patroling thru at least once every week or so. (again overcrowding is the reason for this as it can help to bring in a criminal element)

I would not recommend the place other then to say it is cheap compared to other complexes just down the road, but if you can afford it look elsewhere.
