They towed my vehicle from my parking spot, after I paid $200 to get my car back they tried to charge me an additional $50 because the parking pass was gone when i got the car back. They had the vehicle towed then wouldn't compensate my rent or anything.
My wife and 5 year old daughter got bit by a dog and they didn't force the people to remove the dog immediately like the pet agreement states. The owners were allowed time to find the dog a "good" home so they took about 2 weeks doing so, in that time my wife was almost attacked a second time by the same dog but LUCKILY the owner grabbed him in time.
They up charges all the time at a moments notice with inadequate methods of alerting people. Rolling up the notices and putting them by your door handle. We are by Santa Ana and get the winds they blow the papers all over the place so there is garbage everywhere and the tenants are uninformed.
Office staff is rude when you go in with a problem.
The parking is ridiculous if you are not in the apartments by 9 PM you will NOT find a spot anywhere.
If you are moving here because you have a big dog and can't find another place Keep looking that is the only reason i moved here and it is not worth it. The cost is outrageous and there is a pet deposit and pet rent.
One tenant lived here for 14 years and lost his job asked for a little extension on his rent and they denied him with a clean record of payment they made him leave, then when he asked for his security deposit they said since he lived there so long he couldn't get it back... are you serious' That is illegal after the first year they owe you more because of interest .. don't worry he demolished the interior with a sledge hammer afterward to ensure his deposit was put to good use. odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG

OK, so I normally let slide most notices because I know the people the least happy are the ones who need to vent but I'll post an answer to this.
First, to be fair to everyone on the property towing MUST be enforced. Calls go to the courtesy service FROM RESIDENTS the second a car without a plaque is noticed because they don't want unauthorized cars. The office never orders a car towed after hours because no one is even in the office. Second, every car has a video and pictures taken to prove there is no pass before it is touched.
While dogs that are aggressive do need removed, being humane enough to let the owner find a good home instead of killing the animal shows compassion all around - the rules were enforced but not unkindly or inhumanely.
No one is ever told they won't get a security deposit back because of time. Usually, the longest residents get the most back because normal wear and tear means they don't have any deductions for replacements. I don't know who said he/she took a sledgehammer to the inside, but there hasn't been any such repairs needed so someone pulled your leg. An actual invoice is provided with every single charge made to prove the work was done and the amount it cost. Period.
I've been at this industry for many years and often the bearer of tough news when people can't pay but I always try to be compassionate and work with people before taking further action. You do not get to pick who does and does not have to pay rent. It is very important to treat everyone the same. The law requires it, fairness dictates it and good ethics help make the tough decisions still the right ones.
