Not my favorite place to call home

There are a couple of benefits in Villa Solana, but waaaaay more problems. I lived in the 1 bedroom with den. For a one bedroom price, you get a small second room that can be used as an office or bedroom. Also, the maintenance people are on top of things. Whenever I had a problem they were out the same day or the very next day. They were always able to fix my problems.
Now the not-so-greats....
Parking is a NIGHTMARE! I had one assigned carport and then fend for yourself parking for my other car. If you get to the complex any time after 9pm, forget finding a spot. I honestly think that there are not enough spots to have one for each resident. They really really enforce their parking, kinda. There was a time that I came home and someone was parked in my carport. I had no choice but to park by a curb since someone was in my spot and none were left. I called to have the car removed from my spot. As I was inside calling the towing company for the second time....they towed MY car away for being parked improperly. The other car remained in my spot. I had to pay almost $200 to get my car released and finally got my spot back because the person had moved.
You will get a reasonable price when you move in, but once that year lease is up, look out! Our rent at move in was $1225. At the end of the year, they sent us a renewal letter with a rate of $1550. We had been perfect residents, no problems and always paid rent at least 5 days early.
When we moved out (shortly after getting that increase) they tried to charge us for everything. We had a cleaning company come in and do a final cleaning, and we also patched every nail hole and painted the walls. When we moved out, they charged us for a cleaning and for painting. When we showed them the pictures that we took of the apartment when we left, as well as the bill we paid for the cleaning company and told them that all of the walls were painted-they refunded us our money. But beware because many people wouldn't think to challenge their charges. They will charge you hoping that you don't do anything about it.
Also, their office staff changes very often. About 4 times in the year that I lived there. So if you talk to someone who tells you one thing, be careful because the following week they will probably not be there!!!
