I am a resident. For a while, there was a lot of turnover in management, but since 2007, it seems pretty stable. Management is great -- polite and quick to take care of your problem. The maintenance staff is great too. You'll know everybody by name in no time.
The parking rules were changed -- one car allowed; and second car, upon proof of registration, you get a parking sticker that allows you to park inside the complex. Visitors can park inside, as long as your car is moved around 11pm, otherwise, you'll find yourself scratching your head thinking you're dreaming. They will tow.
I love my Mexican neighbors and the smell of bbq and latin music on the weekend (unfortunately only either on a saturday or sunday, not both). They have been polite and friendly...well most of them anyway. There are a lot of ---------, but where isn't there a lot of ---------. There might be only a few that are filthy, but management will take care of it if you complain.
Some pet owners do NOT feel the need to pick up their poop, and management has initiated poop bags, and has made their team pick up the poop every morning. The trash bins are only overloaded when someone moves, otherwise, there is a company that comes every morning to breakdown boxes, remove big items and sweeps and cleans the bin area -- he's a nice gentlemen and has been working for them for the past five years.
Management will notice you a lot about your patio, but people tend to not listen to them, especially the patios with nice hanging candleholders, or beautiful plants. Management is very patient. Some people have had eyesore junk on their patios, that, in my opinion, should have been evicted, but management still is very patient, but will make sure those people abide by the law.
There are a lot of long-time stable renters there, who watch out for you. So, if you're a friendly person, you'll feel at home.
The yearly rental increases are huge ($100 to $200), but you can negotiate to pay at least 1/3rd of that. That's standard practice and it really, really sucks!
The lawn is cut weekly; the curbs are painted; the wooden balconies redone; tree maintenance; gate repairs; chimneys cleaned -- they try hard to maintain this property and it is definitely beautiful and NOT rundown.
The person who reported the so-called meth lab may be fabricating and exaggerating! I walk my dogs and walk them around the complex and I've never seen any instance of drug trafficing or anything of the sort.
The kids that do "hang around," are soccer kids and range in ages from toddlers to early teens and are extremely harmless and respectful!
I would definitely rent again!
