We moved into this place because of the move in special. 1 month free, a den (which we used as a room), and the fact that they allowed pets. For 1694 and basically 3 rooms we believed we could deal with most of the problems and that these problems were just exaggerated.
The first 3 months of living here we understood why the rent was so cheap. Cockroaches were all over the place. I couldn't eat in the apartment ever. Literally it was that bad. And not just one or two but a cluster of roaches whenever it got dark enough. After all the hassle of moving in we had to fumigate and basically repack everything. We had them fumigate twice and still the roaches survived. Finally on the suggestion of a friend we went out and bought our own traps etcetera. That ended the problem aside from them dying by all your utensils, dishes and food. God they were everywhere.
The other thing the apartment was in such crappy condition. The carpet was mismatched (basically patches were on the floor and replaced instead of fixing the entire carpet), the fixtures in the bathroom looked ancient, the wall sockets are uneven, and you can see that they had only painted certain sections of the wall. It was a rushed touch up job. The previous tenants probably took off from all the crap which is why they were in such a hurry to fill the apartment with the special I bet.
One major problem is parking. It seems as though most tenants have multiple roommates. Families living with families so if you come home after 5 forget it. Two of our roommates had their cars broken into over where the street parking is. Sometimes I can't even leave until my roommate gets home just to ensure we all have parking
What's the best I can say about this place' The amount of square footage is great. Maintenance is normally on top of everything and are responded to within a day or so. It's right by the freeway. It's located not too far from several places to eat. They are renovating, but it normally goes to crap really quickly and I'm guessing it's just to make the place look nice to sucker people in since nows that time of the year.
Like I said you get what you pay for 1700 for essentially a 3 bedroom, but for a little more you could get a much better apartment at a better area.
If the apartments were fixed properly after new tenants, with new fixtures, parking wasn't such a pain, other tenants gave a damn about the place, bugs weren't everywhere I wouldn't mind paying more for a decent place to live.
