We applied to live at this complex and got very excited about moving in. Then they ran our application. My roomate and I have good credit and we also have never had any kind of poor report from any land lord. So we filled out all the papers and paid the lady there $75 for our application fee. Then the lady went into the other room to do some stuff on the computer and "run our credit". She came back with a paper saying that we had poor renter's history and had been rejected. Needless to say we were shocked...we'd never heard anything like this before at any other place we'd applied and still have not since(we were accepted by a near by community shortly after). The woman at the office immediately because very cold with us after handing us the paper and basically kicked us out of her office. I called her and asked her if this was based on our credit score and she said no this is purely based on your "renting history, its something completely different." She refused to give us a copy of the report containing the info that the rejection was based on and although we have checked with the credit reporting agencies we have fouund nothing to speak of as far as poor renter's history. Her excuse for not being able to furnish the report was that they go through a 3rd party company and the only way we could obtain our info was through the credit reporting agencies. This is a clear and blatant violation of California law. Based on what happened, and what I have been told by other proprty managers( I work for a property management company) this woman or her company was discriminating against us and did not want us to live in their community for one reason or another so they said we had poor renter's history, which was a complete fabrication in order to keep us out. Watch out for these people, they are obviously snakes.

based on the poor reviews I've read.. it's a good thing you were rejected. You wouldnt want to live there. Count your blessings.
