Bad Plumbing, Partner with Towing Company to Tow Yours and Your Friends Cars, Roaches from Your New Neighbors

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009
Similar to the last reviewer, we too had good credit, heck my brother owned a house and was added to the lease because they said we needed a co-signer. He was rejected as well. They let us rent for the 1st month's rent and a $400 deposit. We had 4 new neighbors move in around us after 2 years of living here. They brought roaches. We asked the office if we could get the apartments exterminated and they said yes. We asked if they could get the neighbors to do the same so that the roaches won't run back and forth between the apartments, they said no it's up to them. When we scheduled the exterminator, we had to take everything out of all of the cabinets and closets. They didn't show up. We rescheduled and they showed up the second time but the spray had no effect. Long story short on this is we had to pay for the Orkin Man ourselves and they don't reimburse. We complained about the exterminator and the poor job, they said they had no control over their service because they are a third party vendor. That's pretty much their attitude for everything. It's out of our hand because they are a third party.
Parking and getting towed:
They used to have a towing service that would take calls after hours so that you can give them a heads up about unexpected emergencies and so that they wouldn't tow your car. They removed that service and now, if something happens at the last minute and you need to park in the parking lot, you are out of luck. They will tow your car and it cost over $250 to get it out after them having it for 5 hours. Although your car is registered with the apartment, I guess it's more financially beneficial if they remove that service so that the apartment can get their cut. The tow guy actually told us that they couldn't wait to tow a particular car and didn't realize that it was actually our car. The least they could do is give a time frame of when the towing company is coming. Also their is hardly any parking and some of the parking areas can be extremely tight, like your car will more than likely get scratched up by another car tight.
Their customer service is less than adequate. We've been there for 3 years and pay $1675 plus utilities. Now they are leasing our apartment for $1294 and won't negotiate. That is actually the market value in this area. I guess they'd rather spend the money prepping it for the next leaser.
Oh yeah, and when they tell you that their toilets are weak, BELIEVE THEM! I'm not even sure if they warn people about that. We've had leaks spring up in front of the sinks that are located in the bedrooms and they couldn't find the source. So they pulled up the carpet in that area, dried it out and placed it back down. Same thing for the leaks around the bottom of the carpet, can't find the source. Oh yeah and your neighbors toilet just might back up into your bathroom. Niiiice. They won't do anything about it because "it's too expensive to fix the piping and we're not going to pay for that".
P.S. No cell phone reception in this area. And the buildings hold heat in the summer and keep it freezing in the cooler seasons. You can't leave the screen doors or windows open because bugs will either crawl in or there will be rats waiting to run into your apartments.
