Horrid management, decent price, ok maintenance!

The management of this complex is horriable. They do not care about the residents and you are forced to resort to threats to get them to do much of anything. If you threaten to call Bay Harbor (the supposed owners of this place), then they seem to jump a little.
I have lived here for over three years and in that time I have learned if I want something done then I need to do it myself or exaggerate the situation to get someone out to my place in under a week.
I love the lease too. They say you cannot put junk on your porch, that includes bikes. They say no trash or unsightly messes outside your place, but the folks around me have had appliances, furniture (indoor stuff), dead potted plants, and beer bottles all around their places. I have watched bags of trash sit in the carports for well over three weeks, I ended up tossing them myself.
I do not mind the place itself. It's fairly big. The walls and ceiling are a bit thin, but it is not a new building so I expect noise if I live downstairs. The people are ok, most of them are loud and if you let them, they'll double park behind your car and such, but don't bother calling management because they won't do anything. Their office hours are 9-6, but they wrap up around 4:30 and they stop helping you at 5. The only time they stayed late was when I had to come in and sign my lease again.
The poor maintenance is not the maintenance crew's fault. They are nice as can be, but they are told to do medicore jobs and they are given 20 hours of work each day so it backs up by weeks end. They work with what they have. This place buys cheap carpet and linolieum. When people move out the cleaning crew may as well be three blind men. They don't patch up holes much, they paint doors while they're shut so the layerts are exposed once you pry open the door. The appliances are outdated but at least they work. My biggest problem though is the management staff. Marsha is the worst of the bunch and needs to find a new line of work. I vote for prison guard.
Parking is ok, but could be improved. If you sign a lease you are told you can't have more than two cars on the grounds. If you are worried, don't be...management NEVER enforces the rules. No dogs' Don't worry, management again doesn't care enough to check. Crap on your porch' Who cares, management won't check!
If you plan on violating the rules this is the place to be. As long as you pay, you can play.
Overall I highly recommend this place if you want space and a good layout. You also get an ok sized yard if you live downstairs. I love having my own address and entrance too. However, know that if you move here managment is useless and they do not care about you. Pay your rent and all will be ok. If you have beef with your neighbors then take it up with them. Mangament doesn't care.
