From my very first transaction with Siena Terrace Apartments my experience with management has been disappointing to say the least. I left a deposit check after doing a walk through of the area. The week following I sent a signed lease and proof of income. I called and confirmed its receipt via fax. When I arrived to move however, the documents had been lost.
Additionally, when I first put a deposit down on my unit I was told there was no refrigerator in the unit. So I requested one be added for an additional $35 a month. On move in day there was no refrigerator and when I called and let the office know they didn t believe me and sent someone over to verify there was no Fridge before they brought one in. The first one they brought in did not work either.
On top of that the washing machine leaked water, the dryer to this day needs two cycles to dry anything. The oven also does not work consistently. All of these things were reported to management and brushed off.
Worst of all, shortly after moving in I discovered the unit had a serious ant and roach infestation. I asked management to bring in an exterminator. They did this a few times and the exterminator told me the problem is ongoing and wide spread as they force them from one building they just move to another. Ultimately, after the 3rd try, they blamed it on me, despite the infestation having preceded me. At that point I took things into my own hands. I went on a 2 week vacation removed all food from my place, and poured bleach down the drains, and bought ant & roach hotels. This resolved the issue at my expense and having to vacate my unit for 2 weeks.
Bottom line if I were to ever have to live here again, I would demand all correspondence in writing with management. They consistently would agree to do something then forget about it later. Or even if they had noted in their computer system the issue, they would say I needed to put it in writing, despite not mentioning that fact when I made the verbal request. Brandi is the main culprit here.
Move out was painless, building maintenance charged me a flat fee.
Lastly, for the quality of management and community the $1400 a month rent they were asking in April of 2007 is insane. They need to see what the Irvine company offers for $1400 a month and then offer a big discount.
Be aware as well they will tell you water garbage and sewer is only $20 a month.... Yeah Right, I usually paid over $50 per month for a one bedroom!
