I've lived here for about a year now and for this website to be useful, I think I should give an objective opinion that's not filled with too much emotion.
1. Parking
Parking in the complex, is OK. Not spectacular, and not as horrid as other places I've seen. Within the complex, you can be sure that you will find a spot. Guaranteed. The distance you'll need to walk though may be key. Like most complexes, the open parking spots near the 1 BR units are always available. But around the 2 BR areas, it's a squeeze. It's always nice if you can park nearby, especially when you have a lot of stuff to carry, but if you park far, enjoy the exercise.
I must note that the parking at the apmt complex across the street seems much worse as I often see cars parking on the streets. By the street, I mean that they are outside the complex.
2. Noise Level
The most I can say is that it is bearable. For the 1BR units, you should be ok. The 2BR may be a gamble since it really depends on the neighbors you end up with.
3. People
When my lease ends, I probably won't renew it. The main reason is the people who surround me. I'm not racist or a bigot, in fact, I'm not even white so I'm still a minority. But I do speak English, and I would like it if all my neighbors did too. Sadly though, this village has several non English speaking tenants. Especially when you're in the laundry room. Also, it seems that the people in this village don't care much for their surroundings. There is a rule that you are not allowed to wash your car in the village, and yet people still do, while management turns their head the other way. The reason why cars shouldn't be washed is that there is no proper drainage. Who wants to step in murky, soapy water while carrying groceries. Perhaps no village is without its bad apples, but I am intent searching for one where people are a bit friendlier and less apathetic.
3. Unit
You get what you pay for. The unit is not high class and you probably pay a premium for the location since it's close to the 241 and not too far from the 405 - 5 junction. The carpet isn't great, nor are the fixtures for the bathroom or kitchen. But they aren't horrible, they just aren't classy. This could be my personal preference though. Take a tour around a model unit and make sure you pay attention to detail.
4. Maintenance
They're pretty good. Sometimes it may take a day or so, but they'll finish the job. The office number has voice mail so if you don't like talking to people, you can leave message at night and wait for them to get back to you.
5. Office Staff
They're ok. They constantly change the employees. The latest duo of Perry and Candy are ok. Candy is pleasant and nice to deal with. Perry is a bit more rigid and has a strong personality that in my opinion is not fit for a customer-oriented job like property management.
6. Overall
Overall, the place is not bad. There are some things you have to deal, but it comes with the price you pay. Personally, I want to have washer/drier hook ups built in which is why I will not renew my lease. Parking is a struggle for me since my reserved spot isn't very close to the unit.
However, if you're looking for a 1BR, you should be alright. Just make sure not to get too chummy with some neighbors as they may pester you in the middle of the night for very menial things.
