Westridge is not the best apartment complex, but I've seen worse.

The apartment itself is okay. We live in a 2x2, and the space is roomy enough. There is very little storage space in the closets and cabiets, however. The carpet is a light color, so stains are easily seen if you don't clean them up. No major bug problems, except for the occassional ant in the summer.

It is not the most quiet complex, but it depends on your neighbors and where in the complex you live. Our neighbors were somewhat loud, but would quiet down by bed-time, so we had no problems. The trash guys and maintenance people are up early in the morning, however, so if you work late and sleep during the early morning, you will probably get a rude awakening.

I've seen a few police cars in the complex, but overall I think it is a fairly safe neighborhood.

They have a few laundry facilities and small gyms around the complex, which is nice. However, I found the cardio machines to be the only useful equipment in the gym. The weight machines are old and do not function very well. If you want to use weight machines, there is a 24 Hour Fitness down the street.

As far as parking goes, you can usually find a spot somewhere, although sometimes you might have to walk a bit. But it is very difficult to find parking during the summer months (I guess all the kids are home from school'), so it helps to have your own garage.

I don't like management. They have done a few random inspections (with 24-hour notice). One inspection was so that they could put warning stickers on all the apartment windows, which I personally thought was unnecessary. More recently, they enforced removal of all BBQ grills from all patios and balconies, which is a drawback because the complex has pools but no public BBQ grills for us to use.

You can find a good bargain here if you are just moving in, but management tries to increase rent for current residents (which is why we're moving out at the end of our lease next month). If you're looking for cheap rent in Orange County, it's not that bad. If you're looking for more in an apartment, keep looking.
