No bang for your buck

When I first moved into Larkspur Shores, the grounds were maintained fairly well. The little man-made pond with the waterfall was cleaned out at least once a month. The response time for any maintenance was wonderful (one day) and the staff was knowledgeable in what was currently going on with the complex. I was basically happy living at the apartment complex, so I didn't complain about the two obnoxiously loud little girls who live above us with their dysfunctional mother crying on the stairwell because the children became too much. Ever since the apartment complex switch management and ownership, the place has gone to crap. They reduced the rent by approximately $300 because people were moving out left and right. The pond stinks like the most rotten fish you'll ever smell. When it rains, practically every light that leads to the stairwell of people's apartments are out because they have not upgraded the electrical wiring in the apartment complex. We were without light outside our apartment for two weeks whenever it rains. The staff was slow to respond. Not every single neighbor is friendly, so don't expect everyone to be as nice as someone else has posted. The laundry facility is always full and dirty. People don't pick up after their dogs, so be careful walking on the sidewalk because you may step on dog ----. The workout facility is okay if you don't mind sharing people's germs. The machines are old in the workout room and must have at least five or six years worth of sweat on them, since there is nothing available to clean off the machines. The workout room smells like an old boy's gym. The main reason why you should not move is because you are overpaying for what you are getting...an apartment that is runned down with paint chips in almost every single room (as well as outside the buildings), noisey neighbors who have no respect for others, parking is a ----- if you try to park after 4 p.m., and the garbage area are always overflooded with trash because they don't empty the trash as often as they should. One last thing...the water/utility bill you receive from the apartment complex is never fair. If you are the only person who lives in your apartment and showers there (whether you are home or not), you will get charged approximately $50 dollars a month. The apartment complex divides the water bill among every single apartment. So if there is a family of 7...they only get charged $50 dollars like every single person in the entire Larkspur Shores. Major ripoff.
