New Owners/Management As of July 2007

The new owners are here for the BIG BUCKS! Rents for residents have gone up $200-$400 a month! No negotiations. Management doesn't care if you're a quiet tenant who pays the rent on time, or if you're nice to your neighbors, or if your dog doesn't bark incessantly. No sir, it's the bottom line. Pay them!

Here's what they don't advertise: Major construction is going on next door with a new hotel and 130 new homes being built. We're talking jackhammers, the annoying and loud "beep beep beep" of up to five large machines going on from 7 am to 5 pm SIX days a week. The noise level is very bad.

Also, across the hill is Marin County's Sewer Treatment plant. When the wind shifts, the smell (covered up with pine scent) can be atrocious.

These units were built in the 1970's. There has been no remodeling; the carpet is thin, the paint is lead based, and if you look closely, you'll see that the only kept up area is around the main office; other buildings are falling apart.

The heating is antiquated. The "set in wall" forced air heater is in the living room only. Must avoid placing furniture anywhere near it. It's so noisy one must increase the radio/TV volume each time it switches on. One can hear the next door neighbor's heater switching on and off as well.

Washers and dryers in the community laundromats are old; many of them break down. The rooms are not always that clean. Furthermore, the management staff is almost non-existent. Few positions have been filled since new management took over. The current manager is stressed, unresponsive and at times downright rude. Don't expect much response to any resident problems.

Many car burglaries in the past few months. Lots of abandoned cars. Parking for visiting friends is a major problem.
