I moved out of this apartment complex when they raised my rent over $300! The apartment is an outdated dump, the construction noise and dust are also overwhelming... I am not sure if management is smoking crack...'' California is in the middle of a huge recession. MOST people (like myself) are not getting raises at work and are lucky not to get laid off. Meanwhile, the cost of gasoline, bridge tolls, ferry tickets, food and other staples are rising to record levels. I am a well educated professional that works in the IT business. The sucking vacuum that is known as outsourcing is alive and well; especially in the Bay Area. I don't see the justification for such a large rent increases.
