Water Bill Increase

I have lived at Larkspur Shores for 3 years. They charge for sewer, water and trash. It is approximately $75 extra per month over the rent. Now that there are washers in some of the units, my water bill has gone from $10 a month to almost $25. So I am paying for my neighbor to wash her clothes while I still have to go to the laundry room. Be careful...this is a very high added expense that they do not tell you about when you sign the lease!

I just checked this place out today. The guy who showed me the apartment was an idiot. The unit he wanted me to rent wasnt' available to show me, so he showed me another one in a totally different area of the complex that didn't have the same design as the one for rent. He refused to ask the people moving out for an appoointment so I could see the one for rent, and kept pushing me me to rent it sight unseen (He must think everyone is an idiot like him). I noticed cigarette butts everywhere on the grounds, walkways that looked like they hadn't ever been swept - full of leaves & crap. When I told him I wasn't going to rent an apartment for $2K sight unseen, he gave me HUGE attitude and continued to push, saying "most of the people who rent here dont see the apartments before they rent them." Uh, yeah, right. When pigs fly. Needless to say, I promptly left. I believe all the negative posts here. Whatta trash hole run by A-holes! Yuck!

Cigs are from the endless stream of construction workers stomping around the property. They're also responsible for dirt trails through the landscaping - a favorite way for sheetrockers to save the 10 seconds it would take to walk on the sidewalk like a civilized human being. Larkspur Shores hires the cheapest contractors they can find so I guess that kind of behavior shouldn't be a surprise. But when you pay over $2000 a month in rent, it's certainly a disappointment.
FYI, management DENIES requests for walk-throughs when you leave, but they will rack up charges on you like crazy for every small thing they find. I had the place professionally cleaned on move-out and still got hit with an $85 cleaning fee plus other higher, ridiculous fees. If they deny your walk-thru call the tenent association in San Rafael. They will send out someone to walk the apartment with you. It is your right so FORCE those jerks to give it to you or you're just letting cash fly out the window. |
