I have lived in this complex for about 3 years. Always thought it was too expensive but the ferry to work was a plus. The apartment remodeling which is in random units is CONSTANT 8am-5pm. The unit remodeling is a complete floorplan change (this means knocking out walls with sledge hammers, powersaws, drills, plumbing etc.) The management attempts to help after multiple complaints but falls short on their follow through. The construction is so loud and my pets are so freaked out that they are physically ill and forcing themselves to hide under the couch or bed all day. I requested to be released from my lease because our apartment is miserable to be in, but was told it was not an option. This construction is supposed to go on for a couple more years. For the amount of money they ask for this is unacceptable. They have been shutting our water off for 6 hours at a time, They give about 22hrs notice to do any kind of work in your apartment or when they shut the water off. Used to be a livable place but a DEFINITE NO. I've started looking into legal avenues, but have found little help unless there is iminent danger (exposed wiring etc.). You're lucky they seem to stop at 5pm. We've had it going on later than that in our building :(

I recommend looking at this website. http://www.caltenantlaw.com I'm thinking construction according the "nuisance section" can be a reason to break a lease. Any lawyers on here?

I think my neighbor's a pervert, he's a tall white male, glasses, awful haircut and goes by the name of Dwight Schrute. He also flashed me in the work parking lot at Dunder Mifflin. If you see this man, he is a pervert. Otherwise stop whining

lol it's true they do work past 5pm in our building too. I was just thinking that might be just our building and left it alone. Also, thanks for the link marinite. I'll take a look and look forward to any other help people can provide. By the way, I have never had a complaint or been a disgruntled tenant in my life until Larkspur Shores even when things were less than satisfactory. I also find it curious that most of the positive ratings vs the negative give a top or near perfect rating. I would think 3 or 4 stars would be more believable given that most ratings are 1 star.
