I moved in 6 months ago into one of the renovated buildings and I have no complaints. I don't understand why people are complaining about the renovation when it seems all of the same people are complaining that their apartment is old, looks bad and has bad construction. sounds like you just want a cheap hole in the wall place to live... well move to Petaluma. It looks to me that this whole project is almost over. Im just one person so take it for what it is, but I looked all over Marin before I settled here and I couldnet find any place that was so nice inside and out, these guys have turned it around big time.

Renovations began the month I moved in October of 2008, 6 months ago utilities, umm you pay for them generally everywhere, I did in my last place. Not saying Petaluma is bad just saying it's cheaper there, it's a fact. If your that unhappy you should move why would I want to live next to truely unhappy people

My opinion: You didn't look all over Marin. If you had, you would have found other apartment communities that do not charge for water and trash. You would have found others that don't write in sneaky stipulations that charge you for repainting the apartment on move-out. You would have found apartments without full-to-the-bring parking lots. And you sure wouldn't have found another apartment community that tried to sue its own residents for telling their stories on this website. That in itself speaks to the soul of Larkspur Shores - it has none. End of my opinion...

WOW! I thought my life was bad. I mean 2 of my family members have been diagnosed with cancer, one of which has 3 months to live. My wife lost her job 1 1/2 weeks ago and my beloved dog is on his last leg. Not to mention the 2k I just had to fork out to repair my car so I can go spend the last days with my sick family. :(
Like I said, I thought my life was bad, that was until I read some of these stories. So many unhappy people really? Or is it just a few that like to constantly bash the place we call home? Im sorry but have we all forgotten how to enjoy life... it's certainly not spending all day on this website waiting for a positive remark so you can entertain yourself for 5 minutes!!
I have lived here (Yep that's right A REAL RESIDENT) for 3 years. I remember when Equity was here and what a disaster that was. Nobody cared about the property, it's appearance or it's residents, It was awful. I know Alliance was managing this place and I know its being done by the owner now. I dont know when it changed but Im extremely happy the employees stayed. I am always treated with respect when I call or visit the office. I really like the team they have put together here. The maintenance team are very proffessional and bend over backwards to take care of us.
I live in building 1800 and we are currently under renovation. There is noise and scaffolding around our building but it hasnt been going on for long and it is nearly complete. All you have to do is look at the other half of the property to see how incredible the finished product is. To me it's worth 30 days of minor inconvienence. I am looking forward to transferring into a fully renovated unit with a washer and dryer. I pay 1850 now and for a new home they have great prices. I went to look at a finished one and was blown away. It's really like a custom luxury home. Yes I know it's an apartment but with all of the granite and tile, nice steel appliances and washer/dryer its amazing.
I would challenge any of you to find such luxurious living in Marin for such a small price tag. Everyone pays for utilities, I dont know who wrote otherwise but you're crazy. All in all I love it here and so do the neighbors I spend time with at the park or pool.
I was told this site was to "rate" apartments for honest hard working individuals. Instead its a place where only negative people come to vent their "sexual"??? or some kind of frustrations. If you dont believe me check reviews of any other property... It's all the same BS. Get over yourselves. God forbid you actually have a real problem in life!

I think it looks bad if no one is respected in the leasing office, that is the main hub of the whole complex. You could remodel the whole place like they are doing and think thats going to change things, but in the end it won't. To me it seems like they are just out for the money. Larkspur shores customer relations needs to improve. I want to comment about the Petaluma comment. There are great people in Sonoma county and much friendlier than in the leasing office at Larkspur Shores. I had friends from Sonoma look at the apartments at Larkspur Shores(we didnt tell them about our experiences there) and they said the same thing everyone on this web saying about the office people. Now if strangers that never lived there and haven't heard any negitive comments about the place before and they came up with the same conclusion, wouldn't that make you think, Now how could all the opinions be wrong.

DogEDog, employee shill? Or just deluded drama queen? What does your unemployed wife and country song life have to do with if this is an acceptable place to live?
I love that the rats, the absolutely disgusting laundry room and the constant construction are "luxury."
