I moved into 1900 Ocean (Formerly Pacific Holiday Towers) prior to their rennovation. I have since been back to stay at the furnished guest suite while on vacation in CA this summer. It was always a great place to live, I looked extensively before deciding on this building, it was the best location on the ocean that I found in So Cal for the price. The older units were pretty dated, but they have done a fantastic job of rennovating them. The prices increased drastically but again we are talking about Southern California here, and the new rents are pretty much market rate. Parking is reasonable, compared to Belmont Shore, where you can pay 400,000 for a house and still drive around for 3 hours every night to find a space. Weekend and late night parking can be rough if you dont have a space in the garage. It is actually pretty quiet, especially at night. The new management company seems much more attentive, and did a great job of improving the look of the building. If you can, I would suggest getting an apartment on the Belmont Shore side of the building, the side facing the harbor gets very hot in the afternoon. I would say that its worth the money, really the only ocean front high rise in this area.
