1900 E. OCEAN is a transient, corporate trap and NOT A HOME!!

SAUNA OR APARTMENT''!! Thought I was going to die of a heat stroke last summer. I was on a corner unit with NO ventilation. Make sure you get a unit that is not in the corner and that is facing the side where the sun sets. You'll get a bit more of a breeze on that side. Of course, they'll tell you like they told me that you won't need AC because you're by the ocean. This is a major crock of doo doo folks.

WHERE DID MY PARKING SPACE GO' They have a new gig they're pulling now--taking people's parking spaces away. Now if you do the math, there are enough spaces for each bedroom in that building. So what do you think they're doing with that extra space they yanked from you' Hmmmm, maybe selling it while your roommate or you have to park 3 blocks away' Would Lying, I mean Lyon Management do such a thing...READ ON.

Don't let them give your a parking space outside, take a garage space. The spaces outside get used all the time by other tenant's guests and neighborhood folks looking for off street parking. It's frustrating when you complain about it to mgt. and they basically do what they usually do unless you threaten them..NOTHING.

THE STAFF has High turnover. Employees are terrified of mgt. for fear of loosing their jobs because so many of them get fired so frequently -- the general attitude of the lower level staff is to kiss butt to mgt. before making you happy and meeting your needs. Don't trust the staff, some of them are dishonest, unethical and shady.

YOUR FRIENDLY DOORMEN -- I was sexually harassed by two of the doormen. One of them put his foot in my door when delivering a pkg. and asked me for a kiss. The doormen are NOT security, they are doormen and they have been instructed to look the other way when security issues arise. Someone on the 18th floor threw a cell phone out the screenless window and when the doorman told mgt. about it, they essentially did nothing. A young woman was harassed by drunk men on the 7th floor. She reported it to mgt., they did NOTHING.

Many of The doormen are young boys who care more about chatting on their cell phones and making passes at the female tenants than they do about their jobs. The turnover for the doormen is very high so you will have to put up with a lot of changing policies and a lot of doormen who don't know what they're doing. Sometimes no one will be there to let your guest in, sometimes they will, depending on how mature or well trained the new person is. Sometimes they will let your guest upstairs, sometimes they won't, it all depends on the day. The doormen will talk behind your back if you don't tip them for every little thing that is part of their jobs anyway. The lobby presentation and organization is embarrassing if you ever lived in a place where such service was professional. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER, this ghetto, 'wanna be' Tower might impress you.

NOISE - There was a major problem with noise on my side of the building. I complained about it and they told me there was nothing they could do. It wasn't until I threatened to write a letter to the city that they stepped to the plate to reduce the noise level caused by illegal inhabitants on the beach. This was before they illegally moved me downstairs to a unit by the street. I allowed them to move me because I was planning on leaving anyway and they were kind enough to let me out of the lease. Compared to the noise on the 3rd floor, facing the street, the other situation was heavenly.

DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT take any units facing the side street!!! Sirens, dump trucks, maintenance trucks, street sweepers, drunk, bar patrons on weekends throwing bottles and screaming obscenities...you'll feel like you live in Kuwait in the middle of a war zone. When I addressed mgt. about it, they said, "OH WELL, that's the price of living in the city".

FIRE HAZARDS - The Mgt is breaking several fire hazard codes for which the fire dept. has not addressed even though it was brought to their attention several times. There are two gated doors locked in the lower level stairwells leading to the garage and several other fire hazards as well.

ELEVATOR OR STAIRS - I'LL TAKE THE STAIRS - Be prepared to sit and wait a very long time for the elevators and take health insurance out for when you have to climb the stairs. The elevators break down frequently. If you are handicapped, I hope you like sitting for hours and waiting for elevators because if you don't, don't live here.

RENOVATIONS - VISUAL OR REAL' Let's talk about the puffy, visual, cheap renovations for which they're charging an arm and a leg for. They spent millions of dollars on the lobby (that no one uses) when they have a pluming problem so bad that half the tennants can't flush their toilets and the other third have roofs caving in on their heads!

...Make a lobby for looks to draw people in'...OR fix the plumming' Hmmm, let's get em in and when they complain about the plumming, we'll just tell them it's the first time it happened. Now that's the Lying Mgt way. And hell, if your primary motivation is money vs. providing a home, then it makes a heck of a lot of sense!

I had to move out 3 times for them to fix several things that fell apartment in my apartment including the bath tub and closet.

The new "pool" is a joke. It's 3 feet deep and so small, it might be suitable for Barby and Ken's doll house -- so they call it a "wading" pool or whatever. The tennis courts are not REALLY tennis courts, so they call them "paddle" courts. No one uses them ever, but be glad for that because if they did and you live near them, listening to a very loud puck, puck, puck all afternoon would drive you INSANE.

Don't let them tell you you can't have a damn screen on your window. It's CA LAW stated in the environmental health codes. They HAVE to provide you with a screen. They will try to get away with saving a dime where ever they can by charging you for a screen, but don't let them.

They have a Staff that couldn't care less and tries to rip you off if you let them. Know your rights and know the law. The staff acts super friendly when you're signing up and after you're in, they grow fangs. When I was there, they fired 3 maintenance men and 2 managers.

1900 E. Ocean is run my Lyon Mgt otherwise known as Lying Mgt. and we all know what a great reputation they have...not!

How extensive is the plumbing problem? What about reports re: roofing damage and falling/drooping ceilings?
