Love the apartment, but not location

Pros: Very clean apartment when I moved in 1.5 years ago, new carpet, fresh paint. There were some bird droppings on the patio and it was taken care of immediately (not by request, but the staff showing me the apartment when I moved in insisted on it). Well insulated from neighbors' noise.

They allow dogs (with pet rent).

Good maintenance response, always prompt and respectful.

Management is responsive and friendly. We get a lot of packages delivered from UPS and FedEx and the leasing office signs for them when we're not in. It's never been a problem. I have a dog walker who comes in when I'm not home and the leasing office takes care of lending him the key and keeping track of the in-outs.

Gym- it is a typical size apartment gym. 2 brand new treadmills, 1 eliptical, 2 stationary bikes, a bunch of weight machines.

Easy access to I-710 which connects to I-405 easily.

Within walking distance to post-office, a bunch of restaurants and coffee shops on Pine Ave.

Cons: location- well it depends on if you like the urban setting. It is a busy area with Walmart just around the corner attracting its typical customers. To me, it's very noisy and too much foot traffic. On Fridays there's this farmers market that set up shop so it's busy and noisy.

My car was broken into while parked in the adjacent parking structure in the ungated section. They have gated areas within the structure and it deters trouble, so that's where I park in now. These gates spots come with your apartment, some of us just got lazy.

we moved in last december 2008, but we plan to move out when our lease is up. the unit is very nice- granite countertops, laminated flooring, there is good insulation too. maintainance guys are efficient and friendly. we just had problems with other tenants who have parties during weekends. security guys had to stop them, and the security are inconsiderate when they call them off. for 2 hours you hear them yelling at each other..which is very annoying. also, i suggest not staying near the pool area, unless you are okay to hear the people partying suring summer and night time. the other thing that keeps us from staying is the area where archstone is in. is isnt the safest place to be jogging or running around. walmart is very accessible, which is nice, but the people hanging around the store isnt so attractive to look at and sometime scary too.
