My husband and I lived here 4 months. We moved out 2 months early and got a new place, deciding it was better to pay rent for a this place when we didn't even live there. We moved to LBC from out of state and tried to pick the most comfortable and seemingly safest apartment in the city. Bellamar looked good. It was clean, professional and nice amentities. Our car got broken into within the two months. I could here the bums breaking into the garbage every night. I literally watched people stroll down the alley behind the apartment smoking pot from my window. Being from Detroit, I pretty much can handle myself anywhere but I sincerely did not always feel safe living at this place. Lots of shady elements strolling down the alley every night. Addionally, the tenents above me were the loudest people I've ever lived next to in my entire life. They woke up at the crack of dawn and went to bed at 11ish. During this span of time, it sounded as though elephants lived above us. I swear bowling balls were dropped on the floor at least once a day. The staff would not do anything to help us with the noise problem because evicting someone is too hard in CA. It would have been nice if they would have forced the tenents to a different apartment on the 1st floor. When we moved out, they charged us for anything they could. They asked us to clean the carpet or we would be charged. We did that and we were still charged. They used the crappiest white carpet and flat paint to screw people out of their deposit. You could literally knick the wall with the side of your tennis shoe and a huge grey mark would appear. Anyhow, this places employs a professional staff and they keep the place looking great but living there has HUGE pitfalls and I would recommend you look for another place in a heartbeat! The Bellamar owners are nothing more than professional slumlords.
