i live here now, and i have no idea why the reviews on here are so negative. It's obvious that websites like these are full of negative comments, mainly because people log on just to complain. But I have more positive than negative things to say about this place. When i was checking the ratings on this complex before I moved in, I was utterly frightened about what I was getting myself into. Since moving in, I'm relieved to say that I enjoy it here.
I've never experienced cockroaches, parking is plentiful, and available for visitors which is a HUGE plus in downtown LB. I would hate to have my friends paying the meters. There is the issue of moisture which is clearly evident when you park in the leasing parking, but I have yet to be affected by it. I think it probably gives the residents here cheaper rent than say the Archtones down the street at 5th and pine.
The staff is amazingly friendly. On my move-in day, I arrived in my fresh, clean apartment to find a handwritten note welcoming us, and a housewarming gift filled with necessities like TP, paper towel, dish soap...
Pets are allowed, which is why I moved here, and surprisingly I do not hear barking all day long, like I assumed I might.
As for space in the apartments, they're not exactly huge, but I have as much room as I need. Kitchen cupboards are limited.
As for the noise outside which most have commented on... this is downtown LB, what do you expect' I love that aspect of living here... it's city life.. and I can skip paying the cab or driving to dinner, because there is a PLETHORA of entertainment within walking distance. As well as a transit that can bring me to belmont or naples in minutes. I absolutely love it.
I'm 22 years old, female, a student at CSULB. I feel safe, there is a lock or fob spot at all elavators and doors to enter the complex. My favorite part about living here is being able to take the bus to school. Not only can I walk to dinner or the movies, but I don't even have to drive to school. There is also the metro, located on Pacific, (right next to the building), which I can take to LA, Santa Monica... for a day out. I rarely have to drive. That is a huge plus for me.
The place is very well-kept.. and the custodian and staff are very sweet and available to help whenever we need them.
I had an older relative visit, and when we walked through the front doors (which are kept closed unless released with the security "fob"), she asked, "oh, is this a bank down here'" That's how pretty it is downstairs, if you can imagine.
I really enjoy living here, and recommend it to people who want to live downtown (yes- it is loud around here.. buses, metro on crosstreet, people outside- even at night), near the ocean, in a safe and clean complex.
