The apartment was falling apart (bathroom wall rotting, peeling paint, really old oven), but it was dirt cheap for the area and in an AMAZING location. If you can handle a tiny studio, it is well worth it for the great location.

Thank you for saying positive things about my daughter's residence. Our family is from Northern California, and the price (for a one-bedroom) sounded GREAT to me! When I visited, it was clear that the place was "on the older side...", but it's historic -- Marilyn Monroe stayed there, regularly -- and quite charming, in its way... planted among expensive, high-rise condos. It seems to me that the Complainers/Whiners are simply spoiled kids who don't appreciate an amazing deal/opportunity when they see one. (Hopefully, they'll all go back to where they came from, and leave California to those of us who recognize how privileged we are to live here!)
