Earlier this year, I had to move to downtown Long Beach, and was looking for inexpensive living in a very expensive area. Although the hallways are a tad shabby, the apartments are being totally redone as they change hands. They put new ceramic floor tile in the kitchen, dining room, front hall and bathroom. They recarpeted the living room and the hallway by the bath. The kitchen is 1920's retro, and is in great condition. The bath tubs are huge. The walls were all covered with Venetian plaster and repainted. The best part is the rent for $775/mo. including electricity and gas). Underground parking is right next door, where they have a special deal for $75/mo. Maria, the manager, is really nice. Any requests for maintenance are answered immediately. If you are on a budget, this is the place!
