Please, if you are planning to move to Long Beach, do not live at Camden Harbor View. Yeah the location near the water is nice, but it takes 20 minutes to get anywhere, including shopping for groceries. And don't forget to bring your bulletproof vest and gun with you if you plan on going beyond a 2 mile radius to prevent from getting car jacked. The managment here is horrible and I have only lived here for three weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! The maintainence men don't speak hardly any english so it's nearly impossible to describe a problem to them. I live on the fourth floor and the hallway thermostat doesn't go below 86 degrees, which in turn affects how much we have to run our A/C in the apartment. I just got my first electrical bill and for running the A/C at 70 degrees for 13 days it turned out to a total of 250 dollars. Which, you have to keep it at around 70 degrees, because everytime I open up the front door, all of the hot air from the hallway gets sucked into the apartment, making it a virtual hotbox. In three weeks we have had a stove that hasn't been fixed right, the sink and the fridge leak....and these apartments are only 5 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a mail room down stairs that accepts deliveries in case you are not at home when the delivery guy stops by. Well, the person who accepts them doesn't log that it has been delivered therefore making it seem as if the package hasn't been delivered. Also, not to mention the gated parking. They preach about how you need to have your parking pass in your window so your vehicle doesn't get towed. Well, parking is limited down here so people actually wait outside the gate in their cars and wait for residents to pull in so they can follow in behind and get a free parking spot to go out downtown. Makes me kind of nervous because people could pull in, wait for unsuspecting persons in the garage and mug them. No security is present what-so-ever and do I need to mention that it IS the LBC'''''' Oh yeah.....the pool......no bathrooms in the pool area, no jacuzzi and they force you to use the BBQ's that are near the pool since they are not allowed on the patios of the apartment. AND the BBQ's near the pool don't even work good! It is just an overall horrible place to live. I might live here if they only charged 200$ for rent. Then I could accept the overall horrible mangement and handling of the apartment complex.

Hey, I feel ya on the electic bills! Edison Electric is a monopoly sham of a rip off! And Camdeon ONLY allows them, with NO special programs that they normally offer for electricity. Our apartment is a corner one on the 4th floor, not even 600 sq feet in size. We keep our lights off until 8pm, a/c set on 80!, and don't use any electricity during the daytime besides a computer and the fridge, our bill has been climbing up and up, this month reaching 160$!!! And somebody keyed my truck last week in the garage (P1 level) and stole the cargo loop thing on one side of my truck bed- you know- those silver rings screwed into your truck sides.. What is wrong with a person that they steal ONE of those out of the 4 there??! My neighbor had his car broken into and they stole the stero. And don't forget the tastely dog urine IN the elevator 24/7.
